  NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR PROMOTES JÜRGEN HELDT TO REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT OF JAPAN HEADQUARTERS

 
   
  Milano 3 ottobre 2000 - National Semiconductor Corporation (Nyse:nsm) has appointed Jürgen Heldt, 51, to Regional Vice President, National Semiconductor Japan, based at the company´s regional headquarters in Tokyo. Heldt will work in close co-operation with the President of National Semiconductor Japan, Tatsuo Ishihara until January 2001, when he becomes Vice President of National Semiconductor Japan. Heldt is moving into this new position from his current post as Marketing Director for Europe, which he has held since June 1997. "Jürgen brings extensive experience to this position," said Roland Andersson, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Worldwide Marketing and Sales, National Semiconductor. "In addition to his extensive engineering background he has an excellent understanding of businesses across many cultures, insight gained during his 14 years with National and former assignments. With Jürgen´s knowledge and experience we will continue to successfully expand our business in Japan. " Heldt joined National Semiconductor in 1986 and has held a number of technical, sales and marketing management positions. Before that, he worked in the microprocessor and telecommunications market for more than 10 years, including a position in Hong Kong as founding partner and managing director of a telecommunications and traffic automation consultancy.
