Paris, France, 10th October, 2000: Ysl Beauté, a division of Gucci Group N. V. , announced that the Commercial Court of Nanterre prohibited the sale of Ysl Beauté products by Parfumsnet, ruling in favor of the writ issued by Yves Saint Laurent Parfums and Parfums Van Cleef & Arpels against the unauthorized distribution of their products over Parfumsnet´s website, parfumnet. Fr. This decision enables Ysl Beauté to regain full control over its brands, for which the internet represents a major development opportunity. The strategy of Ysl Beauté has always been based on the respect for its distribution network and the highest product quality. In 1991, Yves Saint Laurent Parfums was the first to gain an exemption from the European Commission, allowing it to sell its products through a selective distribution network, which corresponded to its rigorous quality and brand image criteria. Ysl Beauté intends to continue - through its newly established ebusiness department - consultations with its distributors and the European authorities concerning online sales of its products, fully respecting its brands, its global distribution network, and the quality of its products. Ysl Beauté creates, produces and distributes perfume, make-up and beauty products. |
